Forrest Gump was right. Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know which one you’re going to get. We can all attest that we’re going into 2021 with more knowledge, a bit more certain, and for some- stronger than we were last year. “Life is made to be enjoyed, not endured.” I can imagine my father saying those very words, as he always did. While he’s no longer with us, our memories are alive- more than ever.
Like you, I would love to know what 2021 would bring. I would love to have certainties in the upcoming year- unlike 2020. However, I realize that by knowing- my faith muscle, like yours would be stunted. Isn’t that what life is all about? Learning more, getting stronger, understanding how to navigate new roads, and how to swim against the tide?
Because I know the Author- Daddy God, I’ve decided to continuously put my trust in Him. I’m not here to say that it’s always easy. But that’s okay. We were created to overcome the feelings that can threaten us to remain stuck. And who has time for that? So, I’ve made the decision to keep my trust and hope in the One who controls the seas, controls the temperature setting in my life, and who holds the whole world in one hand. One hand. He’s just that powerful and just that good! Because I know the Author, I know my story- and yours is safe in His care.
So, let’s do this. Let’s venture in 2021 with courage and expectation. One day at a time and one moment at a time. We have everything to gain when we decide to put our trust in Him- now and forevermore. Here’s to 2021. Happy New Year!
