Hey guys! It’s 2018-Happy New Year!! So many expectant weddings, births, goals, and events are on the minds of many in days to come. I’m so excited about this year, because I’m expecting God to show up in miraculous ways. BUT…..I’m getting antsy. He gave me a prophetic Word for this year. A GREAT WORD and I keep looking around the corner to see when it would be fulfilled. With two weeks in, telling my emotions to have a seat has taken me by surprise!
God, when will your Word come to past?
I love how God has told me of what’s to come in 2018. Continual trust in His timing has confronted my impatience and silenced my anxiousness. With a gentle reminder about God’s perfect timing, the Holy Spirit began to minister to me.
Have we ever thought about what goes into God’s perfect timing?
With wedding seasons coming into play, it’s so easy to think about “Bride-Zillas” or anxious brides who want everything P-E-R-F-E-C-T. But you know who’s the ultimate perfectionist? God. No, He’s not anxious- but His perfect ways are wrapped in His undeniable character. His perfect timing is motivated by His Will for our lives and His love. All because He wants the best for us.
Before I became a homeowner, I looked at all the reasons why NOW was the time to finally take the plunge and purchase a home. With age being a main factor, I knew 2012 would include my plan to buy. I recalled like it was yesterday. Right after I made my plans known, the Holy Spirit gently answered with
“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
~Proverbs 19:21~
At that moment, I knew God was saying wait. He was saying ‘not yet’ and I knew my desire, His will and timing for my life to purchase a home had not come. Later that year, I would understand why. I stand today (5 years later), a proud homeowner and at the place God purposed for me. Purchased at the right amount, neighborhood, you name it. The timing could not have been more perfect! If I stepped out on my own, God’s grace and favor would not have met me there.
There are four things I believe that can help us remain focused:
What goes into God’s Perfect timing?
1) God’s Will for your life
2) God Being Glorified in your life
3) Your readiness according to God (readiness does not mean perfect. Emotional physical, financially, etc. are just some of the readiness factors).
4) Readiness of the environment (people and situations that will be connected to you).
So, if you’re feeling like me or tempted to be…take a deep breath and calm down. Tell your emotions of worry and impatience to take a backseat. Rest in His promise and continue to be excited about the new year. Continue to trust that all great things from God, come to those who wait on Him. Your blessing will come at His Perfect Timing, not a minute early or late. Get ready for the abundant to come!
What do you believe God is saying to you for 2018?
